The team was given 24 hours to create a proof of concept of a solution that could help merchants spend less time answering inquiries related to the ordering process.

Given the tight deadline, we met to strategize our approach to the challenge and set specific deliverables. We dedicated 30 minutes to thoroughly analyzing the problem based on the available information.

After completing the research, we revisited our core mission with newfound clarity. This allowed us to frame the challenge in a compelling 'How Might We' statement:

How might we reduce customer support requests so that merchants can focus on growing their businesses?

Our solution couldn’t be only for the merchant side. To create a real impact, we needed to make two personas: Heather, the merchant and Martha, the customer.

Persona

We needed to create a value-based solution that would also benefit the merchant. Ultimately, we decided on a solution that empowered the customer.

The customer can change their order before shipment, saving the sale and potentially encouraging additional purchases.

We presented our solution to the two judges from Shopify, the client.

The criteria used to evaluate the participating teams was: Innovation, Technical Execution, User & Market Research, Presentation & Pitch, Fit to Challenge and Group Collaboration
